Training & Development

PestWisePRO Horizontal.png

A wide range of skills courses with certification and CPD points. Onsite, e-learning and practical workshops

"The strategy is the solution – not the products."

A car gets you from A to B – but you as the driver need to navigate the roads, signs, conditions, etc. A car is nothing without its driver and to be a good driver takes time, competence and above all, understanding what you don’t know!!

Training or development – what’s the difference?

These terms are often used together, but there is a distinction. As a rule of thumb:

Training is to do with learning how to do something specific, relating to a particular task i.e. skill and competence. Training can be as simple as learning how to use a ladder; driving a vehicle or as complex as learning how to be a pilot.

Development is often progressive and has a wider application, giving more practical, work-based understanding along with up to date knowledge and tools to do a task more effectively and professionally. It often involves progression from basic know-how to more advanced or complex understanding. Alternatively, it can be about widening a range of transferable skills such as technical, leadership or commercial.

We aim to deliver high quality, skills and knowledge focused accredited training and certificates, to suit the individual needs of all. Throughout our training we strive to provide reliable information, knowledge and skills, enabling candidates to succeed and businesses to grow. From Pest Control Inductions, pest control technicians, through to field biologists and business owners.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CPD is the term used to describe the proactive learning and skills development of industry professionals throughout their careers beyond any initial certification requirements.
CPD combines different methodologies to learning, such as training workshops, conferences and events, e-learning programs and best practice practical techniques; all focused towards the enhancement of individual skills and proficiency. It’s also a record of what you experience, documenting your development as a professional.
Engaging in CPD ensures that both workshop and practical qualifications do not become ‘out-dated’ or obsolete; allowing individuals to continually ‘up skill’ to take into account changes in industry legislation, best practice, health and safety, technical developments in tools and equipment or environmental considerations. A structured, practical and methodical approach to learning helps employers across industries to keep key staff and develop the skills & knowledge in their organisations to maintain a sustainable and competitive advantage.
What are the benefits of CPD?
Continuing Professional Development is essential in helping individuals, organisations or entire industries to keep skills and knowledge up to date. Providing CPD enables individuals and companies to become a knowledge bank around best practice services.
Accredited CPD
Means the learning activity (course) has reached the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks. The learning value has been scrutinised to ensure integrity and quality. The CPD Certification Service provides recognised independent CPD accreditation compatible with global CPD requirements.
